Before
Movements are entered in the herd software, then re-typed into a spreadsheet in the format the mart wants, then checked against ScotEID. Mismatched tags are found only when a submission is rejected or a passport query arrives.
After
Movements are read from the herd software, tags are matched against the reference list, the mart and processor files are generated automatically and anything missing an ID is flagged before submission. A person approves the final submission.
